Maddie’s® Senior Student Award

The Maddie’s Fund®, through the Iowa State University, College of Veterinary Medicine, Maddie’s® Shelter Medicine Program, has made it possible for us to give an award to a senior veterinary student who has demonstrated an outstanding understanding of, and commitment to shelter medicine and the adoption guarantee philosophy. With this recognition is a $500.00 award. There were several strong candidates considered for this award. The 2007 recipient of the Maddie’s® Shelter Medicine Excellence Award was Ms. Abigail Risius. Dr. Risius is practicing in the Quad Cities area and is maintaining her connection with shelters.
