Student Shelter Medicine Organization

Our Student Shelter Medicine Organization has been officially registered with the Association of Shelter Veterinarians for the past three years. Dr. Petersen now plays the major role in advising this group. Community contributors have been invited to speak to the group and always draw a crowd larger than the 60 + members! Our Feral Cat Alliance continues to work on a monthly basis with students from all four classes involved. We recently sterilized our 1000th cat! They also continue to organize the annual “Neuter a Tom Cat Days”, where students advertise, schedule, and help with the procedures at participating veterinary clinics in the area. Fundraising for shelters continues as well.
