Veterinary Student Education

As I near the end of my veterinary education, it has become clear that the vision I hold for my future includes more than proficiency in medicine and personal success. Through exposure to the issues of homeless animals and programs such as Maddie’s® Fund, I have expanded my view of my role as a future veterinarian.

I now realize I must act as a spokesperson for all animals. I can have an impact on the status of pets in society through direct work with homeless animals as well as through the open support of shelters in both public and professional settings. I hope to become a community, and perhaps national, leader in the promotion of companion animal well-being.

This expanded dream for my future transforms my job into my life’s work . . . and a love for animals into a passion for the betterment of the lives of all companion animals.
